Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather fight stream on air on February 20th

Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul live is fighting on February 20th. Almost one month away, and not many in boxing circles seem to be aware of that fact.

Promotion for Mayweather’s comeback has been slim by any stretch of the imagination.

Usually, when campaigning on Showtime PPV, Floyd Mayweather would be splashed all over the internet and newspapers with just weeks remaining.

Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul live

Whether it’s the pandemic or if there are doubts over the fight taking place – that’s anyone’s guess at the moment.

So far, there’s been no press tour – virtual or not, and certainly nothing to report in regards to any grudge match selling points.

Social media for both participants has been quiet by their standards. Who knows? – They might be training hard for the battle.

Regarding sales for the Pay Per View, Floyd Mayweather’s ‘special exhibition’ is now into tier three pricing.

Tier one was just $24.99 when the fight opened up. Once one million purchases happened, that would increase to $39.99.

It’s unknown if that was the case as the PPV price tag would always be the current $59.99 from December 29th onwards.

Mayweather certainly doesn’t seem too bothered about getting the word out there. His lack of movement could indicate that broadcasters Fanmio are happy with the way the fight is selling.

The manager of Conor McGregor has claimed that Floyd Mayweather would refuse a rematch

The manager of Conor McGregor has claimed that Floyd Mayweather would refuse a rematch against either the Irishman or Manny Pacquiao over fears he would lose.

Mayweather fought against Pacquiao in May 2015, a bout in which he emerged as the winner via unanimous decision.

He has come out of retirement several times in recent years, defeating McGregor inside 10 rounds when the two fought in 2018. The undefeated American had dominated the judges’ scorecards up until that point.

Mayweather then faced off against Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in an exhibition match that was called in his favour in round one.

His next exhibition is scheduled to be against YouTuber Logan Paul next fight , with the bout reportedly targeting a record number of pay-per-view sales.

Mike Tyson explains why Floyd Mayweather is NOT boxing’s greatest ever

Mike Tyson has always been a boxing historian and, throughout his career, paid tribute to the great champions who preceded him.

Even now he’s retired and has taken his place among those legends, ‘Iron Mike’ still appears irked whenever the icons of the sport are disrespected.

Following the completion of his career, Floyd Mayweather proclaimed himself to be ‘TBE’ – The Best Ever.

He made this bold claim based on the fact that he retired undefeated with a perfect record of 50-0, surpassing that of former heavyweight champion Rocky Marciano who quit the sport at 49-0.

Mike does not agree with Mayweather’s logic.

Speaking on his Hotboxin’ podcast back in 2019, Tyson said: “Floyd’s a great fighter, don’t get me wrong. He had 50 fights.

Floyd Mayweather retired with a perfect 50-0 record

Victor Ortiz believes Logan Paul is a bigger threat !!

Victor Ortiz believes Logan Paul is a bigger threat to Floyd Mayweather than Conor McGregor . I believe it’s a dangerous combo.

One recent Sunday afternoon, former boxing champ Victor Ortiz went to Logan Paul’s house in Encino, Calif., and watched the YouTube star knock out the last of three partners in the final round of a sparring session.

“Holy crap,” were Ortiz’s words as Paul, his longtime friend, ended another session in preparation for a Feb. 20 exhibition bout against Floyd Mayweather.

Logan Paul

“Mind you, these are full-on professional boxers,” Ortiz told MMA Fighting. “I sat back in shock and awe. He was so composed and relaxed. He used his reach perfect – took a little step, hook down the middle, sleep. Night-night.

“My only complaint there is that he didn’t read him a bedtime story.”

Ortiz knows some fight fans will groan at this story. Training camp stories can be real, but they are also some of the oldest tall tales told in the fight game. Even the knockdowns caught on tape – see Conor McGregor vs. Paulie Malignaggi – are the subject of heated dispute.

Real or not – and questions remain about how real the Paul vs. Mayweather fight will be – a stamp of approval from a former champion is a valuable plug. It’s one Ortiz, whose lapse in attention famously cost him a win against Floyd Mayweather in 2011, is happy to give to Paul. Whatever the critics want to say, it’s no bother.

“I know what I know, and I know what I see,” Ortiz said. “What I’m saying, in a sense, is that he will give Floyd trouble.”

Loyalty is important to Ortiz, who first met Paul six years ago and calls him “a real one.” That’s why he is offering whatever help he can three weeks into his own camp for a targeted return on the main camp of a Jan. 30 fight card featuring super middleweight champ Caleb Plant vs. Caleb Truax.

Mayweather v Logan Paul: What are the rules for the exhibition bout?

Floyd Mayweather will fight Logan Paul in a massive exhibition bout in February.

After some verbal back and forth between the pair on social media, a deal was struck to see the 50-0 superstar take on the 0-1 YouTuber. The fight has divided opinion among boxing fans and experts alike, with many believing that it is nothing more than a money making exercise.

Others, however, believe it is healthy for the sport, and could attract a new demographic of fans that would never have been interested in boxing previously.

Mayweather v Logan Paul

Many were concerned that, with the fight being an exhibition, the fighters may be restricted in what they can and can’t do but, fortunately, it seems that will not be the case. In an interview with The Sun, the founder and CEO of Fanmio – the organization broadcasting the fight – outlined that it will be a ‘real fight’.

“Floyd trains extensively and I don’t think he’s going to go into this fight and not be prepared. He’s very excited for the fight,” said Solomon Engel.

“He sees some big opportunities here, and I don’t want to speak for him but I think we all feel this could be a very historical fight and a number of different levels.”

“This is a real fight. And whoever wins, wins. Certainly there could be a knockout, yes.

“I think it will be a very competitive fight. And to be clear, we have Floyd who is the best fighter, and Logan who is a new fighter.

“But, Logan does have some size difference, he’s many inches taller, many pounds heavier and when you look at size and how that could affect the match, there’s really no telling what the outcome could be.

Floyd Mayweather is fighting Logan Paul in February 20

YouTuber Logan Paul has struck a deal to fight former boxing megastar Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a “special exhibition” match on February 20th. The bout will be streamed as a pay-per-view on Fanmio.

Mayweather is an undefeated champion with a 50-0 record, multiple world titles in five weight classes, and an Olympic bronze medal. Paul is best known for his controversial YouTube video where he filmed a dead body in a Japanese forest. He has fought in one sanctioned boxing match: a loss to fellow YouTuber KSI.

Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul

Needless to say, this is unlikely to be a festival of evenly matched athletic prowess. But Mayweather is not above signing up to farcical contests for the spectacle and the payday. His 50th official win involved him coming out of retirement in 2017 to face UFC star Conor McGregor, who had never professionally boxed before. The following year he fought kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in a widely panned exhibition match, winning by TKO in the first round.

Mayweather called out Logan Paul last month on Twitter, making his thoughts on boxing YouTubers clear and saying he’s “not the one for the kid games.” Paul’s brother, Jake, responded to Mayweather’s comments ahead of his own fight against former NBA player Nate Robinson, which he ended up winning.

“You know, it doesn’t bother me,” Jake told The Daily Beast. “At the end of the day, he’s like 5-foot-4, so he’s actually the little kid here, and obviously he just wants attention. He’s fifty-something years old. He should be in retirement. So he just wants to get relevancy by talking about the YouTube kids, because we’re the ones popping off right now.”

(Mayweather is actually 5-foot-8 and 43 years old. Also very good at boxing.)

The whole situation is deeply silly, which is no doubt why organizers expect a lot of people to tune in. The “early pricing” of $24.99 only applies to the first million PPV sales, with the price rising to $39.99, then $59.99 on December 29th, then $69.99 from February 11th.

Floyd Mayweather announces ring return for February 20 fight at Tokyo Dome

Floyd Mayweather will return to the ring for a fight on February 20 at the Tokyo Dome, it was announced in Japan overnight.

The retired, 50-0 boxing superstar teased last week that he would be ‘doing something big’ at the Tokyo Dome and appeared via video call at a press conference held in the country on Monday morning to make plans more public.

Details remain scarce regarding the opponent and specific nature of the bout, but what was confirmed is that Mayweather will be competing on the same show as a new MMA event named ‘MEGA 2021’ on Sunday, February 20.

This should not be taken to mean that Floyd will be participating in an MMA fight, of course.

When he was last seen in the ring back in 2018, the American fought an exhibition boxing match to headline a RIZIN MMA event.

He knocked out 20-year-old kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa within the first round and made approximately $3million per minute in the process.

Mayweather teased: “Tokyo, Japan, I’m coming back, in 2021.

“I know the Olympics is in Japan in 2021, but me, myself, Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather and my team will be doing something big in Tokyo Dome… Japan, I’m on my way.”

The Tokyo Dome is most famous in the Western world for being the venue at which Mike Tyson was knocked out by Buster Douglas in 1990.
